I’m Julien Vermillard, IoT architect and engineer.
I work on connected products from device firmware to cloud services. For more than 20 years, I’ve been building software and working through the problems of connecting and maintaining devices.
What I’m working on
My recent contributions to Zephyr include LwM2M telemetry scheduling and Fibocom LE250 modem support. Both were merged into the project. I also contribute to networking libraries in Go and Rust.
I build Anchor, an open-source device management server, alongside my consulting and engineering work.
Earlier work
At Sierra Wireless, I was Sr. Director of Architecture, working on IoT platforms serving millions of devices. I founded and contributed to Eclipse Leshan.
My open-source network programming work goes back to Apache MINA in 2006, with later contributions to Californium and Wakaama.
How we work together
I’m an independent consultant and your technical point of contact. I can review an architecture, investigate a problem or join your team to implement changes.
When a project needs more capacity, I bring in senior engineers I’ve worked with, covering embedded systems, electronics, cloud and applications.
